Laurie O’Connor Architects have been imaginative problem solvers since 2007. We are dedicated to helping clients exploit the joy of living.

The practice has a background steeped in visual arts (Laurie’s mother was a figurative artist; his siblings work in the fields of fine art, fashion, costume and set design) This informs and enriches our architectural work.

We develop responses through the process of photography, sketches, painting, and model making. We continue to explore material, and approach in our changing context. We embrace the freedom to try new ideas and technologies, believing that we can build sustainably without compromising on design. Building is serious, but there must be space for drama and surprise.

We believe in the importance of listening; the process of making architecture is collaborative and revolves around the client. Our work draws inspiration from client individuality – what drives them, and why they seek change.

We do not submit to formula; our work is client and site specific. We seek that the buildings we make are transformative and enrich the lives of those who inhabit them.
